Catherine’s qualifications are in Psychology, Family Therapy and Mental Health; she is a member of the Australian Counselling Association, is an Advanced Acceptance and Commitment (Act) therapist and is a Master Trainer in both Adult and Youth Mental Health First Aid.
Catherine’s real knowledge however ,comes from her experiences of being a proud mother of four adult children and “Nannie” to three grandchildren and four step grandchildren ranging in age from 2 ½ to 12 years.
She has trained extensively in counselling, including family therapy, individual therapy, relationship counselling and health. She has also been involved with tutoring and counselling students in University and TAFE systems.
Catherine has worked in private practice and in the non-government welfare agency field. Catherine also has her own business training in Mental Health First Aid for community, education and corporate sectors. Catherine’s therapeutic work has focused on areas relating to the parent-adolescent relationship; she has an enduring interest in working with children and their relationships with family, friends and their world, along with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and general life choice issues.
