Kay Buckley is a social worker and parenting consultant with a 20 year history of working with parents in a variety of settings including direct service, education and training and policy development. She is also the proud mother of three children and is currently exploring her grand mothering role with the births of two young grandchildren.
Kay spent eight years as executive officer of a national peak body representing single mothers and their children. For the last 13 years she has provided a family support role to parents in Adelaide’s western suburbs working with families in their homes to support the parenting role and working with families who are engaged with Families SA towards reunification. Kay has worked with Centacare for 19 years targeting parenting information and support to families at transition stages in their lives including birth, a variety of developmental stages and family separation. She is particularly passionate about families with difficult children facilitating the Who’s In Charge course in partnership with other non-government agencies in various metropolitan locations.
Kay believes that every family is unique and works to tailor parenting strategies to individual families. Her guiding philosophy is that the relationship between parents and their children is paramount and promotes parenting guidelines that foster and nurture this relationship.
